Mooring
Information
Entering Macona Inlet, keep to the port side to avoid Proud
rock. A back transit may be used to check your progress; hold Hill
Rock to the east (left) of pine island. If you are coming from Hook
Passage, stay outside the south cardinal mark that marks the reef
off the southern extremity of Hook island, and don't head straight
for the buoy marking the reefs in the entrance to Macona or you
may cut the corner too closely. Macona Inlet is vast, and there
are a numbers of sand beaches to explore. Anchorage No1 is preferable
to anchorage No2 in fresh south-east conditions. This location is
good for an overnight stay.
General Information
Macona Inlet is nice location and sheltered from the weather, therefore
it is good for water activities.
