Mooring
Information
To help preserve the fringing reefs in anchorages 1 &
2, reef protection buoys have been installed, from the inlet south
of Cockatoo Point right down to Ian Point. Anchoring inshore of
and imaginary straight line between buoys is prohibited. There are
six 18/20 metre moorings which will make life easier than anchoring;
dont lengthen the pennants for any reason as there are bommies not
far to the east. This is not the best overnight anchorage as you
are not sheltered from all wind conditions.
General Information
Stonehaven offers some good snorkelling. A number of large bommies
lie between the Cockatoo Point to Ian Point. This bay is often filled
with lots of boats, so please be aware of snorkellers and the fringing
reefs. |
